Three times two times seven
| March 12, 2012 | Posted by Hajra under Blogging, People, Thankful |
No dirty thoughts; just that I got attacked by the seven link challenge way too many times in the recent past. When I did it last, I vowed never to do it again; because picking up seven posts was the toughest thing I had ever done blogging wise.
But then, three lovely people chose to think otherwise and nominated me in quick succession. And I am more than honored. So, a huge thanks to Deeone Higgs, Praveen and the lovely Chrysta Bairre for thinking of me. And there are two awards!
So, it is the Tell me About Yourself and the Seven Links Challenge. The rules are this:
Tell me About Yourself Award:
- 7 random facts about me
- Nominate 15 bloggers
Seven Link Challenge:
- 7 links to posts of provided categories
- Nominate 5 bloggers
Now here is what Deeone has done and I am going to follow just that; way easier! Follow the first part of both the awards and then nominate ten bloggers. So brace yourselves!
7 RANDOM ME FACTS!
1. Many people miss it but I have brown eyes. Stop staring to find out!
2. I will never fall out of love with food. Never.
3. Horror movies scare me. Otherwise I am a brave girl!
4. I love weird socks. I have them in yellow stripes, orange dots and blue and green flowers. Yes, I have more.
5. I never needed to drive a car until last year. And that is when I got my license, at 26.
6. When asked what I would really want to do three things come to mind – study further, write more and travel. In any order.
7. I am a to-do list addict.
SEVEN LINKS (GULP!)
1. Most beautiful post: The post I wrote for Janine’s Beauty of Difference is very close to my heart. Knowledge is the key to tolerance.
2. Most popular post: Going by statistics; it has to be the one I wrote about kids using social networking sites. Old Enough for the Online World.
3. Most Controversial Post: I would love to write something controversial; however the most popular post Old Enough for the online world did initiate a lot of discussions.
4. Most Helpful Post: After I wrote the post on Study Habits; I got some emails from teenagers saying they loved my post and it actually helped them. Believe me, otherwise it never happens!
5. Post whose success surprised me: When I wrote about having nothing to blog about for some time; people were very supportive and came by and gave tips. I thought no one would bother commenting, but I was wrong.
6. Post I feel didn’t get the attention it deserved: What is your three something bad? I just had high hopes with it maybe?
7. Post I am most Proud of : 26 lessons in 26 years. Makes me all happy to read it!
THE 10 NOMINEES:
Ok, the fact that I didn’t manage to do a Women’s Day post makes me feel guilty; I am making up for it by honoring the ladies here
1. Janine Ripper: Yes, you have been nominated and you did a post; but I can’t help it!
2. Muriel Jacques: Her sense of humor takes the crown
3. Carolyn Mohr: The techie who saves the day
4. Claudia: for laughing at my dentist jokes.
5. Allie Rambles: I met her through the contest but whoever said competition means fight? You are awesome.
6. Sweepy Jean: Never fails to impress.
7. Samantha Bangayan: For everything
8. Barbara Klein: For being the superstar
9. Sylvianne Nuccio: a wonder person and even lovely blogger
10. Holly Jahangiri : No reason needed!
Thanks to everyone for being just the best!

Hajra, I could have sworn that I commented here! I think that I was having trouble entering Disqus the last time I was trying to post and maybe my comment wasn't registered at all. Sorry about that! How could I not thank you *profusely* for passing on the award to me!! Thank you, thank you, thank you!! =) I always love learning more about you and learning how much we have in common. =) #2 and #3 are the same for me. =) <3
hahaha you made me smile :) i like the idea of the post, awesome!
Hello Hajra, So cool to see you participated in the 7 links challenges. I have been nominated for one of these in the past but the timing just was not ideal for me to participate at that time. Timing is such a delicate negotiation. I'm looking forward to reading up on some of your links! Thanks & hope you have a beautiful weekend, Hajra!! Cat
Save it up for a rainy day! :)
Thank you Hajra! It looks like you did it again. Just like you I LOVE food. Which is why i have to run from time to time not to look like the back of a bus. As for saying that my sense of humour takes the crown, well I am honoured, flattered, and...gosh, blushing now. A big, big thank you for your kind words and support.
Hey Muriel, Got you in the trap didn't I? But I have terribly slow metabolism; so I have to fight harder to keep the weight off! I love your sense of humor; politically right!
Hajra, this seemed ;like it was fun. I am not sure I know that many people. If I did I would create a list similar to yours. I can appreciate your honesty about yourself.
Hey Michael. You should drop them a visit sometime! These ladies have awesome blogs! :) Thanks so much!
I enjoyed learning more about you. And I, too, am a to-do list addict! I'm looking forward to checking out your list of nominees.
Hey! It is a bad habit; but yes, I feel I can't function without the to-do's!
Hajra you are always such a joy to follow and learn more and more about you and your very giving nature. Yellow striped socks?! lol think you need to have a video made :) Sounds like a wonderful challenge that helps to promote others and share their wonderful information too. BTW Hajra, thank you very much for your warm support on the comment you made at my blog.
LOL! Yes, I think one day I will put up all those pictures! :) I love your blog; there is no way I am not stopping by!
You have come so far Hajra. It has been a great journey and your topics and areas of blogging is so diverse. I could almost let a green eyed monster out if I didn't love your writing so much. You touch people in a simple easy manner and your comments are great too. Keep going. Now looking forward to your fist book
Hey Roberta, That comment juts meant the world to me! :) I am grinning ear to ear! My first book... lol! My dream! :)
I'm so impressed! This is a lot of effort and I really enjoyed it. No way do I have time for challenges like this right now but happy to read what you created from it!
Thanks Tambre; you are always a wonderful support!
I am so glad you accepted the challenge "again" and do not count on this being the last time you will ever be nominated :-) I am not off to read your nominated posts and I am sure I will love them all(especially the least popular one!!).
LOL! Don't nominate me ever again! ;) They all are lovely ladies, go visit them!
Thank you kindly, Hajra, for the Seven Links Challenge. I actually took on this challenge in January on the one year anniversary of The Wonder of Tech without having ever been nominated for it. Thanks you for giving me legitimacy! I enjoyed learning more about you and discovering the posts you thought belonged in each category. You must be pretty brave if horror movies are the only thing that scare you! I love that you love weird socks. That is a very cool thing to love. :-)
LOL! Now you are allowed to do that legally! ;) All you have to do is the seven things about me award now! :) Yes, I can live all alone in a huge house, can travel alone, cal travel at night, can drive at night and all those things of scary movies; but no, I can't watch horror movies! Are you back from your trip?
I too relate to your #2 .... say, did you ever make that chocolate cake recipe? I know someone who did and really really loved it ;-) No frosting necessary ;-) Truly, though, I love your posts because they are filled with joy and a light heart, which increases my joy and lightens my heart. ♥
LOL! Yes I ended up making all the five suggestions! And each one was brilliant! :) I love ones without frosting; they last longer and I am hoping lesser calories! :) Thanks so much Peggy! :) It is always wonderful to have you around!
I'm with you completely on your #2! :-))
And that is why keeping the weight off is always a challenge!
Popular lady with good reason. BTW, Have you seen the website that lets you buy 'odd' socks? http://www.totally-funky.co.uk/prod2711/the-sock-exchange Enjoy! lol
I would like to think of it that way! They have a website! LOL! You have me spending money now!
Shame I'm not on commission then ey?! ;-)
LOL! How you wish! :)
Damn you! not again! hehe Seriously though - thank you :)
LOL! Yes, I did! You're welcome!
Uuuuuuhh, me superstar? Hajra, I have never been called that, pleasepleaseplease explain, it might boost my self esteem. I rather feel like a stella cadente. Thank you so much, it feels ever so wonderful to be included in a group of such magnitude! Looking forward to share, but you will have to wait some! Have a fabulous week and stay out of the sun!
For being supportive, for being a sport for actually posting a pic with the eye patch (trust me only superstars do that!) I know we will have to wait; you are off to Rome... I am so jealous! ;) I need a vacation gifting friend!
Oh, so lovely, thanks. Posting that picture with the eye patch was for our group's eyes only and I trust you all. Only off to Rome next week, you can switch off your jealousy for the time being. And to be entitled for winning a vacation gifting friend you have to become old old old old - probably the only benefit so far!
Cookies it is; but yes, I am hoping all that cookies gets me a gift of a vacation!
Spoil them with cookies and spice them up with gingko, that should keep them kicking!
LOL! I am hoping they don't go cranky before gifting me the vacation!
